Onion is very important crop
grown and consumed all over the country. Onion crop has always been in
limelight due to several reasons. Govt. of India always makes effort to avoid
the crisis in the country. Prises of onion fluctuate disproportionally putting
stress on consumers and growers both.
Availability of quality seeds,
adaption of improved production technologies, efficient and effective
post-harvest management is some of the issues which determines the satisfaction
of consumers and growers. The government has been attaching high priority for
development of onion and has launched many programmes. This book contains
technical information of interest to researcher, scientists, technicians and
educators in horticulture, agriculture as well as practical, field oriented
information of use to farmers, field personnel and the agricultural industry.Â
Mr. Pandey Manoj Kumar
Born
on 5th May 1991 in Village Pandeypur, Tahsil Jaisinghpur, District
Sultanpur (U.P.). Shri Manoj Kumar Pandey obtained his B.Sc. (Biology) from Dr.
Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University Ayodhya in 2012 and M.Sc. Ag (Plant
Pathology) from Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology
Kumarganj Ayodhya (U.P.). He is perusing Ph. D. (Agril. Plant Pathology) from
Bhagwant University, Ajmer (Rajasthan). Presently he is working as Technical
Officer (Plant Pathology) in National Horticultural Research and Development
Foundation, Regional Research Staion, Nashik (Maharashtra) from 14th
May 2015 and still continued. He has conducted more than 200 field trials on
entomological aspects in onion, garlic and other vegetable crops. He has
expertized of bio-agent mass production specially Trichoderma viride and Pseudomonas
fluorescens under bio-control laboratory at Regional Research Station,
NHRDF, Nashik. He has published a number of Research paper, article, abstract,
technical bulletin, book chapter etc. His contribution to Onion and Garlic are
well recognized. He has taken International and National Training. He is life member
of International Society for  Noni
