Rajasthan, with its vast expanse of arid and semi-arid regions, presents a unique agroclimatic diversity that profoundly influences its agriculture, economy, and livelihoods. The “Agroclimatic Atlas of Rajasthan” is an endeavor to comprehensively document and analyze the intricate interplay of climate, soil, water, and agricultural systems in this culturally rich yet climatically challenging region.  

This atlas serves as a crucial resource for researchers, policymakers, educators, and farmers, providing insights into Rajasthan’s agroclimatic zones, seasonal variations, and their impacts on agricultural productivity. It consolidates decades of data on temperature, rainfall, soil types, cropping patterns, and water resources, offering a vivid picture of how natural and anthropogenic factors shape the state’s agricultural landscape.  

The publication comes at a critical time when climate change poses unprecedented challenges to agriculture, making it imperative to adopt sustainable and climate-resilient farming practices. By presenting an evidence-based understanding of the agroclimatic conditions, this atlas aims to support informed decision-making for optimal resource utilization, risk mitigation, and enhancing productivity.
