During last two decades, knowledge about livestock feeding has improved besides witnessing some changes in the concept of nutrition and its application in livestock rearing for the benefit of humanity. New areas such as enhancement of nutritional value of livestock by dietary alterations, biotechnological interventions in livestock feeding, role of livestock in global warming etc. have emerged and students must have current and comprehensive information about these crucial areas of livestock nutrition. Efforts were made to concentrate on topics, having scattered information about these emerging areas  and discuss the newer concepts of livestock nutrition. This book is primarily aimed at providing comprehensive and applied technical information on livestock feeding to the students, researchers, extension workers and policy makers.
