Managing Water For Better Crops
Population explosion coupled with urbanization and rapid industrialization has resulted in significant reduction in quantum of water available to meet the increasing demand for food. Faulty management of water resulting in development of problem soils has further aggravated the situation of fresh water availability for better crops. Under these conditions, sustained food security can be achieved only by scientific management of this limited resource to get maximum return per unit area per unit of water applied.
This book is expected to meet the need of students, teachers, scientists, administrators and elite farmers for planning, conservation and utilization of water on the basis of scientific irrigation and water management.
