This book on Practical Microbiology and Biotechnology has been written to serve as a guide to B.Sc. First year Microbiology and Biotechnology students studying in different Colleges and Universities. Different colleges and universities have started these courses but there is no proper book of practical available to serve the needs of students in Microbiology and Biotechnology. The students face lot of problems. Therefore, sincere efforts have been made to search, collect and edit the practical. This book has been written in a very simple language. The procedure involved for performing each experiment has been mentioned in a manner of recording the data in practical records. In each of the experiments the requirements, procedure, results etc. have been given. Various biological stains, reagents and media and other composition has also been mentioned so that students may easily proceed with the practical. All the experiments have been arranged in the sequence required for the practical training. The teacher may outline the salient features of each experiment and explain its significance before commencing the practical class.
