India is a country having strength to feed huge mounting population and also production capacity to supply a lot of food material to remaining world since long time. As per current statistics the global agriculture would need to pressure to feed about 10 billion people by the end of 2050 in the world. The country like India has more responsibility due a large contributor of population stands first position in the world with 141.72 crores by 2022 followed by china 141.22 crores by the year 2022 data published by World Bank, US Census Bureau. Therefore the strong extension system blend with innovations and new extension approaches are to taking care in implementation of new production technologies, crop management, value addition, post harvest management technologies, storage management, animal production, fiber production, oilseeds production, pulses and fish production to balance and ascertain the healthy food, clothes supply for the Indian residents is the core need of time. Without re-thinking and strengthening over the running extension system and innovative extension approaches this target may be more challenging in coming days. This is high time to discuss over the innovative extension system in India to meet out the farmer’s technological adoption gap, extension gaps and food processing, value addition and post harvest management techniques in the country.
