Advancements In Invertebrate Taxonomy And Biodiversity
About the book attribute twenty publications made by 30 students of
taxonomy and biodiversity. Most of them are the authorities and have the expertise
on their group for more than two or three decades. Their contribution on taxa
for this country or a part of it, or including neighbouring countries have
occupied a respectable place in this book. The publication presented in this
volume can be listed as diversity of orthoptera in India by Kailash Chandra, et
al., of ZSI, Jabalpur. It contains the indian record of 1033 spices/subspecies
belonging to 398 genera. Diversity of higher categories of fruit files
diptera:tephritidea ) and their hosts association by M. L. Agarwal of RAU, Pussa
(Samatipur) include description of its 4 subfamilies and 18 tribes. A synotopic
list of free living and parasitic protozoa from maharastrahas been presented by
l. Bindu and n. C. Nandi of ZSI, Kolkata. The work includes 52 free living and
484 spices of parasitic protozoa recorded from Maharashtra. Diversity in
anterior feeding aperture in rhabdited nematodes is presented by p. Bohra and
r. Sultan of ZSI , Jodhpur. A total of 72 species under 2 subgera,27 genera
have been presented in this work. R. K. Gupta, el al. of JNVU, jodhpur have
been contributed on the diversity of halictided been in Rajasthan and diversity
of apidae been in Rajasthan. R. K. Gupta and S. K. Charan have made a first-time
contribution on apoidean visitors of Capparis decidua in arid north west India.
They have given the data concerning 64 species incoming 20 genera of bees
recorded on this crop from the referred area.
This book finally contains an excellent contribution made by R. Sundararaj
and R. Pushpa (institute of wood science and technology, Bangalore) it deals whiteflies
(aleyrodidae, hemiptera) of India the work includes 381 species grouped under
55 genera of the family those are found in India and neighbor countries. Nine species
are new record and the monographic work includes all levees identification keys
and hosts record.
Almost all presentations in this book are support with description with
biological characters detailed figures and different levels identification
keys. The book will be of immense use to all the science and student of
invertebrates of the world.
