Many outstanding advances in Modern Biology have been Mode as a result of  application of efficient methods. It is difficult to comprehend the latest developments in fast growing research fields in Agriculture without the understanding of the basic tools and techniques of the physiology and Biochemistry as they are the basic fast developing sciences useful for modern Biology.  Teaching plant physiology for more than two decades to students makes me to write this beginner's volume on "Advanced methods in plant physiology and Biochemistry" to share my acquaintance with the subject, nurtured over all these years with those embanking  on the exciting experience of learning the practical aspects of plant physiology and bio chemistry. There is a need of a book with updated simple and clearly stated protocols and need for a suitable, reliable, user � friendly laboratory manual that will fit well to the requirement of students, teachers and researchers. This book has been divided sections, and have incorporated experiments ranging from simple basic to the advanced Techniques. Choice of experimental methods of research are important to yield satisfactory results. A through understanding of analytical techniques have been developed in away of sophisticated instruments. Routinely in operation in most laboratories. My endeavor has been to include in this book, basic procedures pertaining to Bio chemistry and plant physiology, just a posed in their under lying theoretical principles and other relevant niceties. The philosophy that pervades this volume, essentially a work of complication and presentation in lucid form. It is my prevent hope that the book would prove its utility by meeting the curricular requirements of the UG, PG courses, stimulating interest in its readers helping them to acquire skill and expertise to conduct experiments. The book provides modern analytical procedures for estimation of carbohydrates, proteins, nucleic acids, fats, plant hormones, and also crop physiology experiments for use by Agricultural scientists. The whole book has been given chapter wise and the methods for estimation has been described in a very simple way. All efforts have been taken to provide the references so that users can refer books and original articles for more information.
