Aquaponics Principles And Practices NEW
About the Book
Aquaponics is integration of recirculating aquaculture and hydroponics in one system. It involves fish plant and bacteria. The effluent from fish tank is delivered through plant beds and not released into environment. At the same time the nutrients for plant are supplied from a sustainable cost effective and non-chemical source. Aquaponics can be more productive and economically feasible in situation where land water is limited. The production of fish and plant in aquaponics ecosystem is visible since the process allows the fish, plants and bacteria to thrive symbiotically. The present attempt is made to educate aquaponics in brief, in simple for beginners and slowly attempt to large system. This is a resource book, includes description even to a non-technical reader. This publication is divided into convenient chapters, starting from about aquaponics, system, media, fish culture, management, trouble shooting and greenhouse planning. The challenge has been to provide a bridge towards common understanding of broad field of aquaponics using adequate technical details. Each chapter is dedicated to a specific facet of an aquaponic system. The target audience is Agriculture extension officers, aquaculture promoting officials, NGO's companies and individuals with the intension to bring a general understanding of aquaponics to people and society.
