Pest Management In Field Crops: Principles And Practices (2nd Ed.)
The book deals
with major pests as well as those that is likely to become major pests in
future if they are not managed besides the principle and concepts of pest
management. Majority of pests have been dealt under the headings of common
name, scientific name and distribution, symptoms of damage, mark of
identification, life history and management with illustrations. The management
of pests includes other than chemical methods termed as Integrated Pest
Management (IPM).
I have striven hard to bring the comprehensive text book on Pest Management in Field Crops: Principles and Practices and I am sure that
the book will meet the long felt need of the students, teachers, research
workers and extension personals. Â Some of the omissions in the first edition
like, plant quarantine mass production of fungal pathogen, storage pests,
compatibility of pesticides, pesticide causing resurgence of sucking pests,
invasive pests and their management etc have been added in the revised edition.
