Khare is Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa
Vidyalaya, Jabalpur worked as Director Research Services and Director Instruction.
Dr. Khare obtained B.Sc. (Ag) [Honours] in 1981, M.Sc. (Ag) [Honours] Plant
Breeding and Genetics in 1983 and PhD. [Honours] Plant Breeding and Genetics in
1987-88. He has published more than 89 refereed research papers, 10 books and
14 manuals. The Bharat Ratna Dr. C. Subramaniam Award of the Indian Council of
Agricultural Research for Outstanding Teacher in Agriculture and Allied
Sciences for the biennium 2007-2008 was conferred on Dr. Dhirendra Khare, for
excellence in teaching. The Outstanding Team Research Award of ICAR was
conferred on Dr. D. Khare along with the team of JNKVV in 2007-2008 for
the excellent research work done in the field of crop improvement and seed
availability of soybean. He has developed seven varieties and characterized
varieties of 10 crops to implement PPVFRA. He is a life and Fellow member of
many professional societies. He has organized several national training
programmes, and international and national seminars and performed the duty of
resource person/expert in selection committees and policy issues at state and
national levels.
