Abstract
Actinomycetes are one of the largest groups that produce many bioactive compounds and secondary metabolites. Over the last two decades, numerous studies have suggested the role of these rich microbes in plant growth, enhancing crop yield and protecting against pathogens and pesticides. These organisms are one of the promising populations that can be employed as biofertilisers, encouraging sustainable agriculture. This review briefly describes various actinomycetes identified and evaluated on the production scale of PGP characteristics, biocontrol activity, and genetic clusters involved.
Keywords: Bioinoculants, biosynthetic gene clusters, mineral solubilization, phytohormones, Streptomyces
