Breeding Approaches: For Resilient Sustainable Agriculture For Ensuing Food Security NEW
The book Molecular Plant Breeding:
Principles and Practices explores the essential role of molecular plant
breeding in addressing global challenges such as food security, climate change,
and population growth. It provides an in-depth analysis of innovative
techniques and strategies for crop improvement and agricultural sustainability,
starting with foundational concepts of biotechnology and its applications in
agriculture.
Key chapters cover the
future of agriculture through biotechnological innovations, advanced
methodologies like genome editing and marker-assisted selection, and the
significance of improving not only crop yields but also nutritional quality.
The book emphasizes the importance of developing crop varieties that can adapt
to changing climates and contribute to environmental sustainability.
Additionally, it
highlights the need to safeguard biodiversity and conserve plant genetic
resources, demonstrating an integrated approach to agricultural advancement.
Compelling case studies illustrate real-world applications and success stories
in molecular breeding.
Overall, Molecular
Plant Breeding: Principles and Practices serves as a crucial resource for
researchers, students, and practitioners, fostering a deeper understanding of
molecular breeding principles and inspiring innovation in sustainable
agriculture to secure food systems for the future.
