Handbook Of Fertilizers
SUCCESSFUL present-day farming requires careful study, full information, and keen judgment at every point. In no phase of agriculture is there greater need for accurate information than concerning fertilizers. This little book is an attempt to supply accurate, up-to-date information as to the source and make-up of commercial fertilizers. Special stress is laid on the effects of fertilizers on soils and crops in the hope of aiding the user in making a wise choice for his individual soil and cropping conditions. A fertilizer should satisfy the requirements of the particular crop to be grown. Farmers are urged to consider the interrelationship between crops and the effects of the residues from fertilizers used for one crop on those which follow.
Credit for illustrations is given in connection with them. This manuscript has been read and valuable suggestions made by several present and former coworkers. The writer desires to express to all of them his keen appreciation of the aid they have so generously given.
